Weekend with friends in Couvin

We've all been on a weekend getaway with friends and the same questions always come up: Where are we going? Who is booking? Who will do the shopping? What's the budget? and so on! This unpleasant feeling of having to organise everything for everyone when in fact the basis of a weekend with friends is to enjoy yourself.

So we had the 'little' luxury of calling on Made by Marie.

After a discussion over a drink about our expectations, we had the pleasure to discover a few days later the programme concocted by Marie via her roadbook. Accommodation, food, activities, entertainment, ... everything was planned, even a list of health care providers (which was very useful when our dog Ananda had to go to the vet in emergency!)

All we had to do was wait for the big day.

Friday 26th November, the D-Day, our group of about twenty friends arrived at the gîte in Couvin where Marie was waiting for us.

We were able to discover our accommodation for the weekend and the joys it offered: comfortable rooms, huge living space, billiards, table tennis, table football, darts and home cinema, ... we were not disappointed.

During the weekend, we were able to discover Chimay in an original way thanks to an Escape Game in the town. Afterwards, we warmed up by tasting a variety of beers at the Brasserie des Fagnes, which was a great pleasure for us. Our gîte also had the advantage of being a few minutes walk from the start of some lovely walks.

What certainly made our lives easier: the catered meals provided by Marie (she had even thought of a vegetarian alternative for me!) Nobody in the kitchen, all that was left to do was to heat up. The little extra? Marie served us only local products and made us discover the specialities of the region.

We literally had our toes in the air all weekend. Nothing but chill and laughter with friends for 48 hours, a real holiday. I would do it again and highly recommend it.
